MEET THE TEAM
Director and Principal Teacher of The Move, Chloe Brook, began her dance journey at a very young age. Chloe had much success as a performer growing up, obtaining numerous awards and scholarships. She has over 18yrs experience teaching and choreographing for studios on the Central Coast and in Sydney.
In 2004, Chloe was granted a 4yr scholarship to study Dance and Physical Education.
Upon completion of her degree, she was given the opportunity to turn her dream into a reality; launching The Move in 2009. The growth of The Move has been exponential, from its humble beginnings, operating at a local primary school hall, to three fully equipped studios in one central location. The studio now boasts an exciting timetable of numerous dance genres, lead by an inspiring and sort after teaching faculty, offering over 70 classes per week!
Chloe knows first hand the amazing affect teachers can have on a student’s future career and life prospects, and aims to impart knowledge, passion and determination in her students, so that they can be confident to reach their full potential, not just in dance but in all facets of life.
Since the age of 4 Hayley Porter has been dancing! Hayley has been part of The Move since the beginning; as a student and then as a highly passionate and inspiring teacher.
Whilst she has extensive training in all dance styles, we see her thrive in Commercial Jazz and Contemporary Dance.
Hayley completed a Certificate IV in Dance Teaching & Business Management whilst training in Sydney’s elite Brent Street Performing Arts College. Under the guidance of Australia’s leading choreographers such as Lauren Seymour, Cassie Bartho and Neale Whittaker, Hayley has crafted her own style from the influence of these mentors.
Hayley was lead dance captain in the musical ‘Cinderella – The Pantomime’ by GMS. She has travelled with The Move to the United States 3 times to perform at Los Angeles’ Disneyland and Universal Studios; not to mention attending workshops run by some of the world’s finest dance studios: Millennium Dance Complex, Debbie Reynolds Legacy Studios and EDGE Performing Arts Center. In 2018 Hayley was the assistant choreographer and dance captain for The Move USA tour.
In alignment with dance teaching, Hayley is in her final year of studying a bachelor’s degree in Primary Teaching. This has allowed Hayley to better understand and assist with the development of her students in all areas of learning.
Hayley is an asset to The Move team and inspires her students in her role as an educator and performer.
After finding her passion for dance at a the age of 2 yrs old, there was no going back. Shania Rae trained under Cassandra Bartho for 7 years. At the age of 13 yrs old she completed her schooling through Cairns Distance Education whilst juggling full time dance. Since a young age, Shania has studied and competed in all styles of dance. She has trained under many influential mentors such as Jacqui Howard, Wayne Aspinall, Matt Lee, Wil Sabin, Marko Panzic, Kelley Abbey, Lauren Elton, Natasha Marconi, Alex Miedzinski, Tiana Canterbury and many more.
In 2015, she was awarded a full scholarship for “The Pulse On Tour, NYC” During 2016 & 2017, she toured Australia with both of Dance Editorials shows “Love is Love” & “7 Vices”. She has recently completed her Certificate IV in dance and Diploma in Musical Theatre at Village Nation.
We are honoured to have this hard working girl, share her talent and experience with our students, inspiring them as she continues to chase her dreams in the industry.
Kelly Brook commenced dancing at a young age, she attended a performing arts high school, The McDonald College of Performing Arts, she then completed a Certificate Lvl 4 in Performing Arts (majoring in dance) at ED5 International under the direction of William A Forsythe.
Kelly has performed in various productions with Sydney Youth Musical Theatre, appeared as a dancer in a number of video clips and was a featured performer in the “Van She” video clip “Kelly”. Kelly’s appearances also include hosting live children shows for Nickelodeon in Australia and Singapore.
Kelly later completed a BA Honours Degree in Musical Theatre at LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore, her skills include Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop, singing and acting. Kelly performed in a number of productions while in Singapore including – Thoroughly Modern Millie, A Handful of Keys, The Spitfire Grill, Gypsy and more. She has been fortunate to work and learn from teachers, directors and choreographers from all over the world including Nikki Snelson (original Brooke Wyndham, Legally Blonde Broadway)
Kelly has been fortunate enough to become assistant to Nikki Snelson, with Musical Theatre workshops in Manilla and Sydney.
Recently Kelly has toured around Australia as a dancer and choreographer for sold out, live productions, of hit TV shows; 'Mr Maker' and 'Andy's prehistoric adventures’ !!
We are thrilled to have Miss Ellie join us again in 2020 to encourage and guide our students to achieve their acrobatic goals.
Ellie Kelly has been heavily involved in gymnastics on a local, national and international level for more than 20 years, holding advanced certifications in both coaching and judging. Under her guidance, gymnasts have competed in acrobatics to become state and national champions. With all that experience under her belt, Ellie is bursting in knowledge, techniques and skills to ensure her students at The Move Performance Studio reach their full potential.
Outside of the studio, Ellie works as a Podiatrist on the Central Coast and enjoys sunny days at the beach and keeping up her fitness at bootcamp.
Tenisha Clarke has been dancing and performing over the past 24 years.
She has been trained in various styles of dance and completed numerous RAD ballet exams with outstanding results.
Tenisha has choreographed for Rock Eisteddfods and Wakikiri for local schools on the central coast.
While growing up Tenisha modeled for such names as Mary-Kate and Ashley, Total Girl, Girlfriend, Bonds, Paddle pop and McDonalds.
She has been lucky enough to represent Australia in the dance excellence conference in the United States 4 times and take classes with some of America’s best choreographers and expand her knowledge of dance even further.
Recently Tenisha gained her certification in acrobatic arts and continues to take part in regular professional development.
Tenisha loves sharing her knowledge with the next generation of dancers and is excited to teach Tap and Musical Theatre at The Move this year! Two styles of dance, she is very passionate about.
Introducing Miss Zoe. We are delighted to have Zoe McLennan join our teaching staff this year.
Zoe has recently graduated from Lee Academy full time, receiving her Advanced Diploma in Dance and Musical Theatre, plus Certificates I, II, III and IV in Dance (Elite Performance).
She has extensive experience in performing and educating across all styles of dance, but is excited to share her passion for classical ballet with our students.
We are so thrilled to have Miss Tahlia back to teach Hip Hop on Monday nights at The Move!
Tahlia Watton is a Central Coast based hip hop dancer and choreographer.
She was drawn to the hip hop scene at age 15 after a trip to the USA where she performed in Disneyland and participated in a week long dance intensive.
Tahlia completed her Certificate IV in performing arts at Urban Dance Centre in 2011 and became a part of UDC’s street dance crew; Urban Dance project. During this time, she featured as a dance in Hermitude’s award winning “speak of the devil” video clip, performed in TAFE’s 100 year showcase and featured in Juliette Verne’s film clip to ‘heartbeat love’. In recent years Tahlia has continued to develop as a teacher and choreographer; mentoring dancers from all across New South Wales.
In May 2019 Tahlia competed with Pretty Boy Swagg on the Chinese television show “Dance in Step” and managed the Pretty Boy male team on Australia’s Got Talent.
Tahlia is a leader and assistant choreographer for the dance Mega-crew; Wolfpack, who placed first in both the regional and national levels of Hip Hop internationals in Sydney, Australia and later competed in hip hop internationals in Phoenix, Arizona.
She continues to train both internationally and in Australia to develop her knowledge of all the genres of hip hop.
